DarkhackerPS3 over at the PS3HAX Network site has released a BETA of his "HomeBrew" version of BomberMan, but in this totally different version of his, you are controlling a man that is trying to catch the bombs, that are falling from the sky, in full high-res 1080p, a first in PS3 "HomeBrew"!

Work To Be Done:

* multi-player on same console
* score system
* network controller for online gaming with friend (DOES NOT REQUIRE PSN) it use tcp
* player select for connected controllers on main menu

Seriously. It's one thing to rip off the name of a well known established game brand.

It's another thing to drop the huge piece of shit that is this game and which bears no resemblance to the brand name you're ripping off.

Couldn't you have at least ripped off the gameplay too so at least people wouldn't be disappointed?

Might as well have called it Super Mario Brothers.

And come on, what's with these gamewatch quality homebrew games. I'm sure it's a real difficult decision, black ops, assassins creed brotherhood... Or this

While I agree that this shouldn't be called "Bomberman" simply to avoid confusion, the ranting against homebrew devs is pretty lame.

We should be encouraging people to develop for the PS3, not chastising them for releasing something we don't like.
If you don't want to play/install this, then don't, it's not the end of the world....

As far as I know, this is the first homebrew game with a framework for online multiplayer. That alone should garnish some kudos for the developer!

Come on. Who is clamoring for gamewatch quality games? If you want to play black and white shitty games from the 80s-90s get an emulator and play some Gameboy.

If developers have skill and talents they can dedicate to the scene GREAT, they should be lauded for constructive contrubitions.

But who does this game help? Who is the person clamoring for low res, simple, black and white games. The last time I checked, the PS3 had a 400+ Library of HD games, and thousands more games when you count the game libraries of available emulators.

I'm pleading for sanity. Sure it's cool to show yourself you can program in C or that you know how to code. But come on, can't homebrew dev's make something that most of us will actually USE?

You know like XMBC/MKV Player, ports of other popular software, or utilities that enhance the system.

When people say imagine all the possibilities of a jailbroken PS3, these high school project test code games are a total squandering of time and resources.

This is to showcase psl!ght, the homebrew SDK and is 100% legal. It's just a small demo that will help increase awareness that there are legal alternatives to the leaked SDK.
