started getting an error when I tried to play games one morning, went through all the threads and info I could find online and tried all solutions.

Sony support said to reformat everything, after reformat vita wont turn on. Gets stuck in boot loop. Getting into recovery menu and trying to reformat wont do anything. Trying to do software update via recovery gives me an error saying file is corrupt. This was also what happened with the initial error I got when the system was still intact but games would not play, saying files were corrupt.

It shouldn't matter if you have the receipt or not. Call it a christmas present. It's so new that it should be covered under warranty.

I had a 360 that got the red ring of death. I didn't have the receipt and sent microsoft the info from the serial tag. It was less than a year old so they replaced it with a brand new one for free. Sony should do the same thing

On this one. Well not all what he said but what is the point for a FEW people to get the game and for sony to block it again and have a cat and mouse game. Why? All you are getting is what the psp can already do if not even MORE! When I do buy a vita I will only hack/jailbreak it ONLY if I can play FREE vita games. (call me a pirate blah blah blah) but honestly most/all people who own a vita should own a hacked psp so I dont get it really.... this thing still isnt cracked to play newer games and probally wont be for a couple of years by now.

So instead of bashing poor Vodcas LOL (poor guy) but he is making some reason. I have a psp that can play all the homebrew and my psp games fine which is why I am not getting a vita until around next year there is no games out for it really unless they release a COD/Tag force 7/ GTA/ DBZ / Grand Turismo for the vita then I will (throw) my money at Sony and get one but honestly the Vita is like the old PS3 hype when you 1st get it and only have like a game or 3. I will wait for a price drop and a decent gaming libary.

On Topic: Why hack this thing yet it's kinda a waste of time and be like buddy who bricked his console... just to play some emulators that you already have on your psp/ps3???
