When measuring something like temperature there is usually a standard to keep all the temps between different hardware fair. 5 to 35 degrees is probably measured in a room which is at "room temperature". So the room would of more than likely of been between 20 to 25 degrees when checking the temperatures of the system.

Agreed, 20-25C is a typical temperature also widely accepted as 'room temperature' as far as electronics are concerned and 5 - 35C is the safe and recommended operating range for prolonged life of PS4. The operating range is the Ambient temp. (not chipset) so machine could obviously run 20C or so past the upper 35C spec. Not sure how Sony would design or has designed the thermal conditioning of PS4 as the existing PS3 slim goes beyond 70C (in some conditions). Far Cry 3 causes my PS3 to go as high as 85C.
