If banning PS3 accounts, consoles or both results in less PSN cheaters then good. You have no excuse or recourse if you were or will be banned due to your violation of their TOS. Like it or not running unsigned code on their network regardless of your intentions is against their rules. I do not pitty the fools.

Ironically, this is the exact reason I don't like Steam. If I was banned by Steam I'd loose every bit of content I paid for. Same for the PSN. I guess that's why I don't have any faith in the cloud. That's also why physical media will ALWAYS dominate the consumer market. If I'm banned, I loose all my PSN stuff, but my physical discs are still mine and sitting here. EULA be damned.

I agree cheaters don't belong on PSN. Seriously people should get a life in that regard. Why cheat?? so you can look cool come on grow up kiddies..

But the TOS are a complete joke and in an honest court system they would agree.

Sony makes the network a target: because they use the network for full control of the system. The ads and everything said the PS3 can do and tactics they used to sell the console where alot of things that require you to continue to agree for TOS that violate consumer rights.

Sony should not at all require you to log into PSN for services like Crackle, Netflix amazon and many other similar services.. You bought the console and you have paid memberships where you agree to the services TOS of those products. So why must you agree to SONY terms in those situations? You dont need PSN to use those services. Proof of that is once you login you can log right out. Now some apps have had updates that require you to be logged in when viewing the menus but none during video playback. So there they are breaking consumer laws by making them agree and give up rights when the network is not needed what so ever or provide any additional features or resources. Its a trap to agree to the TOS and that what is designed for.

Then you have PSN purchases that require a user to Reactivate the content. (i know CFW has ways around) but officially is violates consumer rights.
You can pay full price and agree to the terms at that time then you have to reactivate and agree to new TOS just to play your purchases? WTF SONY?

So with all that said screw you sony. If you want CFW off the network. Dont make everything on the system tied to the network. They basically render your OFW consoles useless if you agree with ever changing ToS that violates consumer rights in many ways.. Then in many of those cases they are having minor agree to the terms which doesn't stand up when that is the case..


Now i don't use PSN for anything that SONY has produced or anything they host on their servers so why do i need to agree to PSN TOS or be required to log in?


That is why i disagree with people who say CFW shouldnt be on PSN.

@brakk3n Oke brakk we know your opinion already could you talk about something else. Because every topic about a banned psn console you show up to state your typical comment.

I'll entertain him STLcardsWS This is the only topic I've shown up on this site commenting that pertained to banning of PS3 consoles and/or accounts [that is that I can remember, as this is the only time it's been posted on the main page]. Typical as my comment may be and as shit as Sony's TOS are I still feel no pitty for hacked users who use their consoles online then get upset when they are banned. If you don't like someone who can look past the biased nature of pirates and can consider the opinions of corporations, game developers, consumers, hackers and pirates then simply ignore me. There's a handy feature on most forums to do just that as talking smack or whatever you want to say is not going to, for a second, silence me.

Also, I do not hate anyone for using PSN with a hacked PS3. I dislike lots of things, but do not hate others because they have an opposite opinion of mine, a different one or act differently then I do. I do however hate people who cheat in games or maybe I just hate their actions more then anything. If you're cheating in a game you ruin the gameplay for yourself and if multiplayer other people. Some people are too hard headed to even realize this. I don't use CFW and think it's a piss poor solution for the PS3 scene, but I don't hate people who use it. I do hate Penut Butter. That indeed I do.

I agree Sony's TOS is very restrictive and in some cases (such as the "we won't sue you in civil court") would not stand up in any, like you said, "honest" court. It's too bad "honestly" has a price. Anyway, every time a new console or some type of technology is released it seems we give up more and more of the, for better lack of terms, "freedoms" we are accustomed to because of the fact there are people out there with the sole intent on ruining the service(s) as they did when PSN was down for a while and the massive cheating mostly from hacked consoles. Even though I have bias against Sony and their fault laden products I purchased a PS3 and inadvertently agreed to their TOS for both offline and then online when I signed into PSN. PSN is a free service and it's not right right to be able to access it nor cheat on it. I do have an issue with how Sony will handle people who've purchased PSN content or use services that rely on PSN that can no longer access their "leased" property nor have I read anything in their TOS or their BAN's regarding what will happen to this content. Even though you've violated their TOS you've still spent money to purchase things. So it will be interesting to see how they sort that mess out. However, hacking the PS3 is your own responsibility and using anything that can communicate to "home base" be it a PS3 or iPhone after you hacked it and then using it on-line is simply retarded as you're exposing yourself and whatever data you may have to be accessed - so I disagree with you on the fact CFW should be allowed on-line which ads to the reason why I dislike and do not condone using CFW - period. I don't. However, if a proper solution were to be released and I were to take my chances on PSN and then be banned - well, it would be my own damned fault.

Yea sony PSN is a free service yes. but its not really an optional free service and that is the issue i have. Honest courts would have that issue as well..

While its free that argument is moot when they use that free network to violate customer rights/

If you dont agree to the TOS like i said official FW are basically useless expect for previous games well disc bought games. No new games, no access to services. eveintually no access or playability to games you purchased all ready..


So while it may be "free" its not giving you the freedom of choice, or allowing you access to products you have already purchased and have on your HDD..


Whats to stop them from putting in the next TOS if you agree you owe us $100 for past use of the network. The agreement of TOS is also a joke because they can never prove who indeed hit i accept. THAT IS A HUGE ISSUE..
