donating = fail! nothing good has come out of it till this day, and never will. My 2cents!
Did you expect him to personally come over your house and jailbreak your ps3 as soon as the money was raised. adrianc has been quietly trying to raise the money since last June. Someone on console crunch wrote a article about it and it spreed quickly around the net. psx-scene contacted him and got the full storey. adrianc never asked for the publicity. It came to him. 20.000+ hits on his free blog was starting to draw outside attention and he had to shut it down. adrianc will do what he said he will do. Unfortunately stuff takes time.
I couldn't agree more. Its all well and good making out you can do something but the scene don't need posturing, it needs results. Sony is watching too closely, they don't need telling how the next hack is done or how the keys are discovered next time. It just needs releasing under the radar.

If you ask me you would be better of getting a xbox 360.
I have pretty much given up on the PS3. Sony seems to have more time going after people trying to hack their system then they do on security of their own network and then the slap in the face welcome back crap.
I bought a xbox 360 when PSN was down and I must say the Party Chat is a cool thing as I don't have to listen to these kids cursing and trying to trash talk.
People are hacking the Xbox 360 but I don't see Microsoft going after everyone. To be honest yes there are people that will download games and play them on a hacked system but if they couldn't do this they wouldn't buy these games. So no sales are lost.
From my years of experience have systems that are hacked makes them more money as people tend to buy the games they like and since they are going make people pay to play online with a used game they could make money from people that have these games that want to play online.
Sony seems to be the biggest loser here no one else.
I dont agree with the above poster but look at it like this a lot of people have brought second consoles, one for back ups, one for legit purposes If it wasnt hacked then would people buy a second console? Piracy might harm companies, but it helps them aswell, i found a few great games that i since went out & brought after downloading them
While I had read this whole argument... the points has been put to the table. Sony watches every move that the hackers make so WHY tell people what you are working on... As for Adrinac he might be a fraud or he might not like the publicity but the fact of the matter is this, whoever donated to him DESERVES ANSWERS! Atleast Geohot had the decency of still keeping his websites open. But anyways this scene is nothing more than a soap opera... maybe when the ps4 comes out Sony wont give a damn about the ps3 anymore but until then just enjoy your 3.55 or 3.41 hacks anything over 3.55 (well you know what to do)
Here is what Sony should do.Do what Microsoft does ban people with CFW that try and play games on XBOX Live.
Seems to sort of work for Microsoft.I think they spend more money in legal fees then they would make if people bought these games.
Why doesn't Nintendo or Microsoft sue or start legal actions on people hacking their systems?I for one will never by a Sony System again.
To much BS of them stealing from me. I paid for the other os feature and they took it away, so it's ok for them to steal from millions of customers but not ok for people to hack thier own systems that they paid for.
F Sony and their BS.
I'm still for an underground release..
They have sued people, but it goes more under the radar and people either dont know about it or they forget about it quickly. It is not like Geohot is the first person in the world to be sued for hacking a system. About 2 years ago Microsoft sued a guy (Michael Crippin) for modding Xbox 360s. It took over a year before Microsoft decided to drop the case against him. Nintendo also sued over sales for R4 cards. I would post links to articles about it, but i havnt posted enough on this forum yet to be allowed to post links yet. But just search on Google and you will find the articles
