You missed my whole point. The reason why tablets and etc.. do so well is because of the gaming portion. Which is why graphics are a deal breaker when it comes to the 3rd generation consoles. Online gaming got so big that they weigh more on graphics/gameplay than actual story mode. Why invest 2million into a project that wouldn't do good? Anyways... their project I just think it's going to be a waste of time.

Tell u whut.. will a buy one? yeah I'll buy one if this is real.... but I HOPE they make it bigger and better... I dont mind a fully functioning high end pc gaming consal... but I HOPE its high end.. and open.. actually thats whut the whole scene is about... having a high end maciene that lets u do ALOT of any and everything, thats whut a ps3 is or a 360... just a super gaming computer.. cpu's gpu's just fully dedicated for all your gaming needs.. but I HOPE 4 better I want the net level of technollagy already... fully 3D gaming and everything u could want... Why are people arguing over a open games console? Weather you like the fact it is android and not a super computer or not, this is still a move in the right direction which has the potential to send Sony and Microsoft a message if successful.

I'm not usually the one to say this but you guys need to chill, an open console is nothing but a good thing, crap or not.

Which is kinda huge, they could add better hardware to the console with this kind of budget.

Android is the way to go, no doubt about it, but playing flash games on HDTV ? It's going to be pretty ugly and boring.

However this could be the first step to a new breed of consoles (like the F2P MMO's) and could stop the reign of Sony and Microsoft. They would also be forced to adapt to the new market (cheaper consoles, cheaper games) or risk loosing market shares.

Tired of seeing Sony rape their costumers ass with outrageous prices and horrible costumer service. Hopefully some company will follow this model in few years and build a real competitive console with the same principles (if it's successful it will likely happen).

We don't know the cost of it yet so no you don't know that.

You're right that we dont know the final retail price yet, but you can get a OUYA for $99 on Kickstarter right now. There are thousands of free slots, so there isnt any big hurry just yet. A Xperia Play is like $250 - $300, so the Kickstarter pirc is already cheaper than a Xperia Play.

Even if dont know the final retail price, i can already guarantee you that the retail price for OUYA will be lower than $250 - $300. Having a retail price of that means that it is more expencive than Xbox 360 and PS3. It is the same way that i can guarantee that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be on PS3 and Xbox 360 eventhough that no platforms have been announced yet for that game.

The retail price might be higher than $99, but if they want to keep this competitive, i'd say it would be a bad decition to increase this price a lot. I could see a retail price of $149, but that is still much less than what a Xperia Play currently costs.
