doesn't PS3 Ninja pkg prevent them from detecting this? it show a different list of games that is being played so multiman don't show up. also with Rebug, Rogero etc dont' those show up as normal ofw 4.30 to the psn network?
also if they start banning consoles then what if someone sold one to another person with them knowing is was banned? the new owner would just be screwed? that would sux butt.
exactly, just ignore him, he's looking for flame bait.
anyways as for topic, just watch there will be lawsuits, stopping users from accessing content that they have paid for is stealing just like how EA banned origin users from the forums and stopped them having access to the content they had paid for they got something done about it and EA gave them access to their content, yes we know sony can get away with everything unless you have a good lawyer but the law still stands and what they are doing is illegal just like they accuse of us using "malware" and calling us "hackers" i'm going to call them "theives" "scum" "corporate pigs" and so on.
it's quite ironic that people like Goku1992 are calling everyone who uses cfw pirates when the only people who are stealing content from their users are sony.
@Ramosxtreme1976
There must be a balance. CFW users already have the privilege to play newer game titles. So it's pretty damn fair if they are not let online. Not because of cheating (not speaking directly to you) but 95% DONT pay for their games.
That's not fair to me when I buy my games. I have nothing against CFW users because I used to have it but shit don't get greedy this should not be a big deal because you guys have 95% of ps3 games to play for free. Legally/Illegally you all knew from the start that PSN would be off limits from the beginning. I even warned users going online that Sony would start banning consoles.
Once again I am happy that Sony is doing this. If there is a spoofer or something that a person can play their legally bought game disc on CFW then by all means I have nothing wrong against those CFW users. It's the CFW users that don't pay a dime and want to go online is the users I have a problem with.
Yup, thats what i meant. 360 did that when they dropped the hammer also. I seriously suggest to anyone who wishes not to be banned to stay away till further news. I know i will. it certainly seems fishy they start this around blops2 but the 360 did the same around when halo 3 and gow2 came out and they banned the sh1t out of millions. Hows xlink or xbs with mw3?
Im going to agree with you about alot of people don't pay for a lot but that not everyone. So banning everyone would not be fair for the ones that pay for there games. I put more money in this damn thing to be band. So until there is a work around Ill play my spare ps3 online with no worries because its on OFW.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Run little rabbit run!
Fast as fast can be - you'll never catch me!
@Ramosxtreme1976
This is where I also agree with you. It's just the fact that the piracy really got out of hand. What CFW users do with their ps3 is their own business. Like I said it just is not wise to play a CFW unit online anyway because Sony keeps track of it. People who have PSN content bought would be pissed because I buy PSN content all the time.
Sony doesn't care about the CFW users being online. Since it is so little of them but it's for the users that would try to glitch the game "Prestige hacks" Black Ops 2 is an EXTREMELY popular game. So this is why Sony is doing this and enforcing the banning.
What I am saying people on CFW had it for a while now and knew that psn was here today and gone tomorrow but it isnt worth risking your unit being perma banned. If people really care for those functions either dual-boot or buy another ps3.
It's just the users that want everything handed to them without contributing is the ones I have a problem with. But like I said before Black Ops 2 came out today so Sony is just repeating history from 2 years ago.
I agree with Sony's decision to ban PSN accounts linked to hacked consoles and also retract the PS3 consoles warranty. Due to the massive amount of morons who ruin others online gameplay via cheating I think they deserve to be banned. PSN is a service that is not guaranteed and if you break the rules I think you should be shit-canned. As for the warranty; Sony can snoop around your PS3 while you're online and knows if you're running CFW which voids your warranty. Knowingly installing CFW that it voids your warranty then bitching about it when Sony terminates it is immature and foolish. If you're going to hack something and violate TOS then man up! It's just like these pathetic children who brick their consoles installing CFW and blame the CFW authors - it's not their fault you installed the CFW. No one forced your hand. When you installed CFW you knew you'd lose PSN access and since then there have been brief moments in time where you can bypass Sony's security to gain access to PSN, but you're still violating the rules and I feel no remorse for anyone who has done such a thing. When you get into the "mod" scenes and you void your warranty then that's it. Once you do that whatever happens next may not be beyond your scope of control. Sony has all the rights in the world to get rid of these children who think destroying gameplay for others is "fun". Good riddance. I might get more multiplayer games if/when they do ban these low lifes.

@Jalaneme
People cant sue due to the fact of the TOS made from Sony with the 4.00 update. (You cant sue us we cant do whatever we want) It's F***ed up but at the end of the day we are playing on THEIR servers. I may not agree with everything Sony does but it's their servers their rules.
EDIT: Brakk3n even said it. To go online Sony strictly said (you can NOT reverse engineer or use unsigned code on YOUR ps3) or your Ps3 account would be terminated Sony is just now putting it into effect. So Sony even said it themselves
Want PSN go on OFW It's literally the only way.
