Some parents just don't care what game their kids play. I grew up with non violent games like Super Mario Bros. I didn't even watch violent cartoons like Dragonball Z. Years ago my 5 year sister watched power rangers once and she would imitate them on me which our mother didn't like so we were banned from watching that show.
I may only be 26 now but the kids of this generation don't know what it was like when we were kids. If we wanted to play with our friends, we went over to their house for a play date. There was no Playstation or Xbox.
I am glad you wrote " I may only be 26". It shows that you are realizing how young you actually are.
I was playing Pong when it first came out. I was also plugging quarters into the Pacman machine before anyone knew yet that it had a pattern.
The level of violence in some of the games disturbs me because your first paragraph is SOOOOO true!.
It's one of the main reasons I don't do much online gaming.
With that said (and to crawl back on topic
), I had AC brotherhood logged in for 2 days straight (didn't realize I had forgotten to turn off the PS3 when I turned off the tube). I wasn't actively playing but it was still logged into the network at the game choosing screen. I had it shut off for about 24 hours and logged back in last night. It did online just fine.
I may try a few other titles tomorrow and see what happens.
Since my CFW PS3 is primarily my traveling console, it won't hurt my feeling if it gets the hammer dropped on it.

I would much rather go to my grave not needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it.
