This thread contains a person whom has been banned and another reporting on the error codes you receive when banned and what they mean. So if they aren't full of it then yes, people have been banned.

Do you know when Sony started to detect the CFW consoles? It they are doing it now based on a new method not including previous logs and system scans then it would probably be a good idea to not sign into PSN. To be on the safe side and all. It's just what everyone needs is their personal information being stored in a database full of CFW users. Of course, they could of already flagged PS3's using CFW in the past and you're already in a database, but I'd play it on the safe side. Who knows what will become of their database. Some Czar might add it to his/her collection.

Hmmm now I am worried They have my credit card information, address real name and etc. Since I bought PSN content and DLC stuff. I would like to know what kind of method their are using to identify the Non OFW even staying offline. My traces are there, my information are there. They just have to caught me!

Regardless of the legal status of flashing CFW Sony is still planning on banning CFW users.

Indeed, I never claimed anything to the contrary. Sony owns the PSN and they are well within their rights to ban anyone they want from there for any reason they happen to like at the moment.

Oh, Jailbreaking iphones and such will again be illegal pretty soon due to the 2012 DMCA.

Sony can't let his PSN raped by CFW users that get free access, hacked online pass and pirated games...What do you expect oO
THEY DO THE RIGHT THING as best as they could...even if there are a few CFW people that will tell you that they are legit and bought the game, how many don't and cheat ?

I only hope that there will not be collateral damage (eg OFW users that get banned due to false positive).

False positive will be very unfair for people that don't cheat but get banned too...I hope Sony algorithm to detect cheaters is perfect...even if there is no such a perfect thing in our world ! Cheaters will inject / spoof their connection with other people serial / account number and force a lot of false positive...How Sony will deal with this issue ?

Scare tactic, probally looking for the bootleggers, consoles playing the wrong region code, ect. Note is says cfw AND pirated games. Lol
was on it earlier for a couple of games of mulriplayer. Cant wait to get home.grafix are better and the sound WOW. I was using a retail disk and psninja too.
I see as this: if i vet banned o'well itll will be like 3.55 days again multiplayer is a bonus in my book.
