I don't like active shutter 3D TVs. They always give me a headache. Passive 3D TVs for me. Never get headache from those.

Wow this isn't even that hard to make, it's pretty much a regular 3d active TV with a high refresh rate, and it uses the 3d technique to transmit different 2d images to each eye

This article is confusing. Are they saying that 2-player mode for all 3D games is forced into 2D? Or just with the SimulView games? because for $500, they better figure out a way to do 2-player 3D, or I'll pass, and while we're on the subject, SimulView sounds cool on paper, but what it boils down to is unnecessary flair. Probably another one of the PS3's shortcomings cleverly disguised as "new age technology", as you're simply playing a 2D game, but still have to wear the 3D glasses. I smell a flop.

Hmmm. Have to ever used active 3D glasses on a 240hz TV? Assuming that the 3D games will take full advantage of the 240hz refresh rate, the TWO images you'll see on this display will be alternated between your left and right eyes @120hz, which is faster than most regular PC monitors can refresh A SINGLE image. So unless you get a headache every time you use a PC, the shutters may not be the cause.

It is possible that your headaches could actually be caused by a totally different issue. Active 3D glasses are most often heavier in weight than passive, so it could be the weight of the glasses that cause your headaches too.

This is actually pretty cool. I remember reading about this around E3. Much more interesting than that Indonesian pirate dongle everyone seems so enamored with.
