does it play mp4?
I downloaded and installed this having not tried any applications like this for the PS3 to watch a certain movie I have. The results were poor, there's a hissing sound throughout the film with none of the audio audible.I ran the same MKV file on my pc with VLC and it went fine.I also tried a couple other MKV movies, the sound was okay but there were errors.I only ran the movies for a few seconds to see how well they ran but there seems to be glitches in where the footage is shown sped up or slowed down with the audio out of sync in regular time. When you pause and unpause there's graphical glitches.I had the sound cut out on me after unpausing once aswell.I'd say this is a POS, I hope not all the media players are like this.I'll stick to the official Sony media player.

Both offical and unoffical can't seem to handle m2ts files of a certain size. All my blu ray rips stutter when streaming (Gigabit LAN). It completely fine with Tversity.
can anyone sign it for FW3.41.??
it will be a huge help

I think there is a bug in this update. Got a lot of hissing audio on mkv's that worked great in the previous updates of this unofficial release. I think the issue is related to: Floating point audio output is broken for AAC+SBR. Avoid that for now.
I think you guys should pull this release until a fix is made available. I simply deleted this version from my PS3 and installed a previous one that worked (3.1.208). Others could just stick to the version that deank complies for MM.

Reply to "tthousand's thoughts" I'm using official showtime-3.1.203.g477b9.pkg. All my movies are .mkv (Some .avi) running from either internal HDD or my 8GB flash drive. Only issues I have is when pausing sometimes the audio goes out of sync also on rare occasions Showtime will freeze forcing me to hard re-set the PS3. Video with H264 level 4.2 and higher shudder, PS3 also reported a "no memory error". EDIT: Might have been a AVC encoded .mkv file that made Showtime run out of memory. (I'm no expert with encoding video) EDIT END. Any .mkv video on or below H264 level 4.0 work fine.
