I tried installing through that special 6 option menu(can't think of the name off the top of my head. You hold power till the console beeps and turns off then hold it again and wait to hear to beeps) and at about 90 or so percent of preparing to install the update it errored out. "there was a serious error. Please contact blah blah blah" I forgot to gram the error code and am not really willing to restart the process.

They did not enable unsigned code for this. The point of the CFW was simply to enable multiple debug tools (included in the FW), not to aid homebrew.

The PS3 is region free.

Not for DVD playback, it is region locked. I guess Blu-ray is region locked too.
I'd like a region free machine as I have DVDs from multi regions. All purchased legally, but un-playable. This is what drives piracy. Locking paying customers out, but allowing (r0) copied DVDs to play.

I have a question... If i get this will I be able to jailbreak it with my ti-84 as I usually do on my 3.41 or will it not work because I really dont want to loose my emulators and backups of my games that I bought please someone respond.

As far as I have been informed, nothing has changed in any of the 3.41 CFW so far that prevents JBs. So you should still be able to. I do not aim to give false information, however, so if anyone is positive, please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, as long as its still 3.41, you can jailbreak.
