If they bring out used game DRM, then they should half the price of the games. With no used game sales, then all of the money is going to the manufacturer/developers and there is no need to charge ridiculous amounts for a game. Half the reason why I stopped buying new games because I never wanted to risk spending $60 for a game which is going to rape me bored. Not only that, but they are blocking off the part of the userbase that only buys used games. It's only strategically going to make sense to re-capture them with cheaper games.
if this happens, could we see another crash of video games?

I am not pro DRM by any means but nor am I for the price gouging that third party retail chains get away with. I would rather see cash only in the developers hands then see profiteering chains like Gamestop not only get by but sit back like fat cats with their pockets lined with cash for third party sales that hurts the developers and forces Sony/M$ whoever to take such extreme approaches to this to stop the sales of third party games. Do I think it sucks? Yes but I gave up on buying second hand games over 10 years ago so it is nothing new to me. After working at a Gamestop for two weeks I will never enter nor let a dollar of my cash see their wallets. Giving people $15 for a game that is less then 2 months old then turn right around and sell it for only $5 less then a new one cost. No thank you I will just buy it new for $5 more and be done with it so they don't get any of my cash.

maybe a user poll is in order. i'm sure the we all know how it will end up, but maybe make it anonymous so people can vote truthfully.

Well if the PS4 has that Feature, then the Used Game Stores are going to loose their profit like no other due to MS and Sony being greedy.
sony apparently has responded. it looks like they don't directly say they're not having drm, but i am pretty sure they are saying they're not gonna have drm. it's just a rumor that goes out of control like when someone says a certain actor won't be in a sequel
Never there but always going back
I'm thinking the same way, DO DO this

yeah but a lot of people agree to those prices, i mean they accept the 15$ for the game they had just bought for 60$... otherwise u wouldnt see those shops filled up with used-games. And most of the time if u dont buy them for 5$ less another person will come and will because many people find the 60$ overpriced.

They even sometimes give u less and make promotions, buy Assassins creed 3 for 30 euros when u trade in 3 games...
I mean seriously?
I dont see why people are stupid enough to even trade in those games. Unless u really dont care about the low amount of money u will get from it.
I mean i dont see people buying a gaming console for 600 dollars and then the next month selling it for 150.... u get the same percentage from it.
In fact the time the ps3 was around 250/300 i sold my fat 40gb ps3 for 200 ( and it sold in like less than an hour) and was able to get a discount at the shop to buy the new slim model 250gb for 210...
The reason why they accept the low prices mostly is because people are to damn lazy to put on their games on e-bay themself or advertise elsewhere to sell their new game for 40 euros themself.
Then rather then selling it to the company, better advertise to sell the game for those 10 euros or 15 dollars to someone else, so at least only the person who buys it will profit and u get the same amount of money. Its better to make that person more happy if you are accepting that low price then by giving the shops money. Even worse is when that person finishes it and sells the game for 30 bucks to someone else haha. But yeah like i posted before mostly it started that after u see the companies abroad selling new games for much less then 60$ and with free-shipping from Asia... I mean why go all the way to a store to buy a new game for 60 bucks when u can also like get it delivered in ur mail box for like 10-15$ less and the day before release? Unless u are not sure that u actually want to buy the game... but then u can watch a trailer on that same website too haha. But the only reason companies are doing this is because there is a market for it and the consumers let it come to this.
I mean 10 years ago u didnt see this, shops selling used games. And then people were also not buying so much off the internet because they were afraid of getting scammed or whatever, u need to pay first and get the product later? what if they wont send it? That was the biggest reason people didnt buy online, but now the rules have changed there are much more secure ways to pay online, some even give u ur money back if it turns out u got scammed.
So the reason this has arised is not because of piracy because piracy has always been there since the first Nintendo came out people were able to copy their games, they made pieces of hardware to make it easy for u and copy it to any diskette.
But back on topic now however in some cases it costs the shops money as some give a warranty on used games or things that go with it. I remember i bought a used guitar-hero guitar for ps3 for like 25 euros. Then i come home and it appeared to be the one for the pc and it was ofcourse not working on the ps3. So i went back and they had to give me a brand new one as they made a mistake, he also almost forgot to remove the game from it too though
I have a couple disagreements for one
I have been around for some time and they have been doing the trade in since SNES
and what you like to buy a new game find out it is crap then stuck with it come on
this would affect game fly and rentals and borrowing a friends and more
I do state it is a bad idea and it is plain simple greed that drives this they want what the resales get the money simple as that
