Can I get help with this awesomeness here? I've been tinkering around trying to play SaintsRow3(BLUS30666) on my 3.41 JB machine, so can I just: copy disk to hdd; extract param.sfo + EBOOT.BIN; change FW version and save for param.sfo, and do "Resign EBOOT (3.56+)" on the EBOOT.BIN; then ftp those two files to overwrite where they came from(hdd0) ; and then My OpenManager will finally launch/install the game? I've noticed If I do the "Resign EBOOT (3.56+)" to an EBOOT.BIN, it will drecrease in size from ~18mb to ~8mb. Is this normal? I thank you Aldo, and the scene as always.
It shrinks because of the file compression. It's normal.
this sound useful.
can i resign games for 4.30 that have been signed for 3.55?
can i sign PSN games for 4.30?
call me clueless, because i am! hehe.
I had no idea it was that easy to play newer FW games on an old 3.41 machine...SaintsRow3 installed and seems to run just fine with my ancient setup (Hermes loaded Minimus stick + OpenManager 2.1I2). I then tried FarCry3 with a little less success. It installs and loads, but there was no opening cutscene, and I can't save. Seems like this was a common problem fixed by Duplex's part1 and part2 patch, then some crack patch, then some 3.41/3.55 fix. I found the last fix, cannot find the duplex patches or cracks anywhere...
BUT, these tools are awesome! Any chance of opening a .sdat file with any tools?
When changing games/pkg's to reflect a different firmware and name, I think I've got the FW part down. But what all is needed to change the ID? I can change it in the param.sfo, and folder names in the structure, but what about: eboot.bin, game.self, and other files? I can reassign lower fw, but what about it still displaying the "wrong" ID in content descriptions? DO you have to change this? Or is changing folder names, param.sfo enough?
