Why does everyone want a new version of CFW?

Because some of us would like to play recent titles, especially upcoming ones, without sacrificing the current homebrew/backup/OtherOS/whatever functionality offered by the Jailbreak.

The current CFW doesn't take away from homebrew possibilities,

I only need the newer firmware for two things. Disgaea 4 will no doubt require a higher firmware when it comes out here in the U.S. and I have DLC that came on my Disgaea 3 disc that I had to shell out even more cash to access that if something happens to my system I will loose until a PSN capable hack/firmware comes out or I update. I don't have the same confidence that some of the white knight crusaders have in regards to my backups of the PS3 hard disk. I wouldn't mind this lesser MFW if those two things were alleviated. And just for the record, there will be a snow fall in hell before I'll update to an OFW.

I checked out used PS3 systems at my local Gamestop. The lowest price for a slim was 229.99 + tax. I bought my brand new slim for 269.99 + tax with a Walmart discount card that I don't have anymore. I was hoping to find one for 129.99 maybe. However, to those who might care, a decent Xbox360 with an HDMI out is 99.99.

im not sure what the OP means exactly , do they mean that if there is a new 3.65+cfw that we will have to recompile it for ever ps3,with that systems specific per console key?so there wont just be a single pup that everyone can use ,but instead we will have to extract our console key and recompile the cfw pup ourselves?why ? is it just cause of this method they are using ,or not using since they said they would not make or release a new cfw themselves

What the smartest thing would be: Release it under a Dummy name. At least contact the Modderator prior with the Dummy username, wait a little bit, create the account from somewhere OTHER then your residence like maybe a Library or somewhere and there you go. This way, the Idiots (wont say a name Sony......crap) wont be able to actually identify you.
