@RatAndDragon & One2thr456svn , You won't get sued for modding a console unless you announce it to the world by posting youtube videos of you doing it and telling others how to do it under your own name and not anonymous. So no, you will not get suedYou actually said (cause I will) when you WON'T if you use intelligence. Also I won't be leasing the console. I would of bought it, so I would of owned it. I don't live in America. My PS3 is modded, I do what I want with it, same as my PS2, PS1 and original PSP. Out of the years I have modded all of these consoles have I been sued? No I haven't.You call us sheep which I find funny. I am simply buying the best handheld console available and doing what I want with it without being sued.I will repeat this again... If everyone who knows about Sony's bad doings boycotted them then Sony would see a dip less than 1% in their sales... They won't even notice and it won't change anythingThat being said you have to ask yourself who the sheep really is... Think about it, if everyone who pirates games are pissed with Sony and stops buying their consoles, that is less games pirates, giving them a better reputation to the game developers. You think they wouldn't actually want this? I guess some people just don't think.
If you look beyond video games, i also watch a lot of anime illegally. Although i've only ever convinced one person to pay for dvds for 1-2 series (i only know one person who watches dubs, and none that watch unsubbed jp), i have bought probably $1000 worth of merchandise in the last year. If i couldn't watch the shows for free, i would have spent exactly $0 of that. So still, the creators profit from my piracy.
Piracy rarely hurts profits much, and can help them quite a bit sometimes.
1. Not sure I'm going to take advice on how to think from someone who has trouble using a space bar.
2. I didn't call you sheep. And if you actually read what I wrote you would have seen that I said it doesn't matter what the sales impact might be - it is enough that I am not funding the legal bullshit and I am not paying for something that I don't own. If you buy a vita you are funding Sony, and while you may not be getting sued right now you are certainly at risk. Saying you haven't been sued is like saying you have3n't been arrested for smoking weed - maybe you haven't, but you still have to keep it pretty much secret in most parts of the world.
If I don't have the freedom to mess with stuff I paid for and talk to other people about it then it cannot be said I own it, it's a rental, which is what you'll be doing with the vita.
Not really. There is no way for them to even pretend they are justified in suing someone who simply modded their console.Quote:
