They could have patched OtherOS too... but didn't want to.
It takes a hell of a lot longer than 10 seconds to patch a security hole. Depending what it is determines how long it will take of course. I know you were deliberately understating but still, it isn't as ninja-quick as you think.
Anyway, it is good to see people working on the Vita already.

Was the iOS boot ROM exploit ever patched through software update? But i'm still wondering on a technical level on how OtherOS could be patched.

Yeah, it's much better they wait, and risk having it fixed before anyone can use it. The exploit was found on day 1. If they can find it that fast, it isn't unreasonable to think sony will find it within 2 months.
And seriously, you guys need to pick a side. Do you want them to release their findings, or keep them secret? You can't have it both ways.

The bootrom on iOS devices can never be updated through any kind of software, it is a ROM.

releasing all these hacks WAY too early they should wait till vita has a good amount of firmwares first otherwise vita will be patched to all buggery before the US and EU releases this is bad news if anything good

yeah, I've been saying that they've been jumping the gun on the vita for a while now. It's gonna end up biting vita owners in the ass when every exploit gets patched before a good amount of good games come out for it. Not only that, but it's just gonna make it that much harder for developers to work on it down the road after Sony updates the hell out of this system. Don't get me wrong, I want to see development on this system, but I just think the timing's off

For who? You? Stop being selfish. The 300k+ people who already have one do not benefit from waiting. In fact, the longer it is before it is released, the more likely sony is to block it before they get it.
