Now THAT is news. I was going to be getting a Cobra in the next couple weeks and have been getting some games ready for it so I can just plug and play. This will be a great addition since I'm rockin a non-bc slim

@lolcatzuru - I've been waiting for a while but I don't think a free solution is gonna happen anytime soon. Personally, I would never buy a TrueBlue because all it is is an exchange of one DRM for another. TrueBlue is getting paid for flat out theft. The cobra adds new features/compatibility that Sony deemed we didn't want but look how many people have bought one of these. Obviously it has features that people still care about. Cobra deserves your money if you want what it offers. And before anyone jumps in and goes on a rant - it's an opinion. Take it for what it is

How can they make non BC PS3 run PS2 games? Either they've worked a miracle or I am horribly misinterpreting this.

Every PS3, Fat and Slim do have a software PS2 emulator in it. Sony has been working on this so they make more money by selling PS2 game through the PSN.

If you don't know already, there is a method of getting PS2 discs to play on non-bc PS3 systems by using service mode.

Now we can do this without service mode and without needing the disc. I have tons of PS2 games that I still play and waiting for the PS3 HD version of them like the Jak and Daxter series. and Ratchet and Clank series.

If this could work in conjuction with my TB (both USB dongles and a new CFW that supports both TB & Cobra) I would get it..And b4 people start hating on TB hold that thought while I pause Need 4 Spped & Portal & all the rest of them...

Same here. When I saw the news I was like "WTFOMGDAFUQISGOINGON"
I also got the feeling I'll get hated on because I may misunderstood and its not as awesome as it sounds like first when I made the post in Member News lol
