I'm on mobile so bear with me.
Once you have your rootkey, dump you flash (Nor/Nand), then transfer to PC. If your console is a Nor flash, name it CEXflash.bin place the eid_root_key.bin and CEXflash.bin in my programs root folder. Open, it click the C2D combobox, click CEX 2 DEX and click "DO IT" It will convert and then you will get a validation box and a outputed file called DEXflash.bin. flash this to your console. It will boot into gameOS, now just install 4.11 or any DEX FW, you'll now have converted to DEX (debug/test unit) succesfully. If it's Nand just use Gunner54 tool.

Nice! That's what I'm talking about. Thank you very much. It's appreciated. Once again, mad props to all the devs hard at work.
Thanks for the tut PsDev. I am almost convinced that I should convert to DEX just need a little more info which i will be looking into today.
And a BIG thanks @naehrwert for delivering on your recent hints! Nice to see developers sharing.
It looks like 2012 is going to be another great year for PS3's again. Just might have to try this in the next few days.
can i be a hacking noob and ask if cfw is just round the corner? also is this for latest ps3 firmware?
i dont understand that with client, what client i need to start on PC?
the one you build from the source code of naehrwert's tool : the tool works in different way if it's built for PS3 or for Windows (Win32) - in not entirely correct words, but in order to simplify it, when you build the source code for PS3 then you get the 'server' part of the tool, when you build it for Win32 platform them you get the 'client' part of the tool. also, as naehrwert's instructions clearly state before you build the client you need to set PS3HOST in 'main.cpp' to the IP address of your PS3 - that's why the client part of the tool is not pre-build but you need to build it, i.e. customizing it with your own PS3 IP address.
Thank so much Naehrwert
Regards
do u need a hardware flasher to reflash the ps3 ? cex to dex ?
