It's not just that.

The old metldr (v1) doesn't have support for the new consoles - this was a deliberate move by SONY.

The new metldr (v2) has been known for a while.


There is also another metldr.

• metldr (before datecode 1B) <- can be downgraded
• metldr (datecode 1B) <- can not be downgraded
• metldr.2 (datecode 1B) <- can not be downgraded

It looks like .2 does not apply to all 1B date-coded consoles - but 1B+ still cannot be downgraded.

so does this mean that a new 3.70+ fw could put a new metloader on our console and make future downgrading difficult or impossible?and if they could or did fix this in the regular slims then why the whole new console redesign? .i assume it was a regular console he is talking about and not a revised one right?but doesnt the e3 thing sat that it works on ANY slim console?

METLDR is a problem, but so is the new all emcompassing Lv0. Chances are Sony still really has no clue as to what they are doing with a console, which makes perfect sense to me. They make elertronics, they do not create them. They are like the microsoft of the electronic world.

I think it is going to be very interesting what starts happening in the next couple of months, as we hopefully begin the unstand this incredible system more, that sony epic failed.

You cant downgrade any console that came with firmware 3.56 or greater anyway. Why did everyone jump on this downgrade bandwagon anyway? Its not like you can go out and buy a brand new console and apply this hack to downgrade it, because you cant. The Progskeet or E3Flasher downgrade loophole was for anyone who upgraded beyond 3.55 and want to go back.

Dont worry about METLDR version for now (you need to dump your firmware to know for sure!)

Use the date-code as the basis to determine if you can downgrade or not.
