Dynamic recompilation?
id say awesome but i dont understand wat it is
if they ever decide to pick back up on the 3.41fw they were doing i'd change in a heartbeat, but i'm not real big on the idea of jumping to 3.56 and needing a flasher if i ever want to go back to 3.55 or lower.
I second Neoathalon's statement. I would LOVE to see this on 3.41 firmware. But it would be hard for me to let go of my hermes 3.41 and go to 3.56, even with the ability to play iso's. If they get psp/ps2/psx iso's all working and it's stable, wow that would be an offer I couldn't refuse. However, I'm a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" which is why I still use hermes 3.41. I got in on it once I knew it was stable and when 3.55kmeaw came out I was already too invested in 3.41 with the patches and ability to use 3rd party controllers still. Along with everything working properly there was (and still hasn't been) really no reason to move to kmeaw. After the stability of kmeaw was proven and psn was working it was a difficult decision but I still stayed with hermes. Then psn for 3.55 went away and there it was, I was glad I'd stayed. We all knew it was temporary anyway so it was no surprise but still... 3.55 required eboot fixes too, granted there were less games which had to be fixed but the difference was negligible. Here we are now in 2012 with kmeaw fully established as not only stable but also the most popular cfw, and still nearly all apps and fixes that are released by scene are released for 3.41 and 3.55. Again, glad I've remained on hermes! I stuck with it and I'm glad. For the longest time I was on a dongle (amazebreak at 7$) with all its inconveniences but still it worked and I wouldn't let it go until I was positive that there was a stable cfw. After all I had gotten the power switch for my slim which made it much easier so it wasn't so bad. After a long hiatus from keeping up with the scene I came back and after MUCH research I finally decided to go with Hermes. The power switch is still serving its purpose since sony removed it from the slim. When testing games they freeze up the ps3 occasionally and I'm glad to have the power switch. Alll that being said. I did eventually get a 2nd ps3 which came with 3.55 so it was an easy decision to put kmeaw on it, which has worked just as well, but not any better than hermes. Nearly all of my games work on the kmeaw system too. I have a couple of 2tb externals which have been filled with my 3.41 patched games and while I haven't tested all of them, most of them do work on 3.55, so again, not a bad decision to stay with hermes, even with all the patching for 3.41. I can pick up the hard drives and plug them into the kmeaw system and its allgood. I now have a 3rd system which I keep fully updated for use on psn. The best of all worlds? Nope. It could be better. We could be able to use the psp/ps2/psx iso function which is already incorporated into multiman (thanks deank). Keep it up devs, but please don't work on 3.56, it seems moot when 3.41 and 3.55 are already well established. I'm clearly not a dev so I don't know all the details but I could easily be described as an enthusiast and I'm really pretty well invested into 3.41fw. Is anyone with me? Sorry for the rant. I've been holding it in a while. Thanks devs and psx-scene for all your hard work. Much love.
