This is probably gonna piss some people off but they can say whatever they want. Until the new eboots are released and confirmed working with it or not this statement means nothing. And who's gonna risk their PS3's hard drive getting wiped to be the first one to test one of the new patches?
And if they did fix it, how long before TB updates the firmware to exclude them again? They're fighting a losing battle until they can patch the games themselves and be completely independent of TB + PARADOX
Yes, well, we will see if their is going to be a release of patches, or just more talk. TB was saying they were going to step the game up, I would be expecting a v2.6, and even a CFW v3 before we see any more patches. I could be wrong, but with everything going on![]()
On a stupid fight like this we ALL lose!
True, this is just one hurdle. How many more will we see? Where is my Cobra clone?
BahumatLord, I tend to agree with you. Since TB have proven they sunk low enough to write malicious code to destroy end users property that JB-King should step up and start releasing their own patches for the safety of their own consumers. This whole debacle is messed.
It's a safe bet that we'll see a TB firmware update with the next set of eboot patches. For a couple months PARADOX was releasing 10-15 patches every 7-10 days, then nothing for weeks. To me that means they've been holding off on releasing to see what the clones were going to do so they can stay ahead of them.
The only options I see for JB-KING + JB2USB is to either
1. make their own patches
2 just say screw it and release info on how to crack the TB and make it open source
Otherwise this is going to be an endless back and forth between the dongle makers and it's going to mean longer and longer waits in between releases and unnecessary firmware updates
Not only would making their own patches benefit their users with safety from TB malicious code but they also get the added benefit of people not being able to hate on them for riding TB's work.
I think option 2 is inevitable but think the clones will try and ride the gravy train as long as possible but as soon as profits are dwindling and not worth the effort they will drop the bomb and make the dongles obsolete, a day which will be epic =p
TB is a horrible position here, because as soon as they effectively block all of JB-King and similar dongle makers, someone will get angry and just release the code on how to make your own TB device killing a huge volume of sales. Cobra is lucky to have it's own special features (like playing PS2 games and whatnot) but TB only has its wide variety of 3.60+ games to go on.
