Sounds cool. I think it would be nice to see more people making games for PS3.
Wouldn't be a bad idea. I might suggest that you shouldn't allow entries that have nothing to do with the ps3. You can slap PS3 in the title, but it doesn't make it related to the ps3. I won't mention names, but most people know what I'm talking about
Agree with the great feedback guys. So we should make games and apps one category and everything else into another category.
Also as BahumatLord said it should be for the PS3.
Yeah, maybe also a utilities section if you can break it down like that. Not really sure what your contest budget is. We could use better PC based software to interface with the PS3, but there are some good utils out there. So that would be apps/games/pc utilities categories. IDK - Just a thought

in every platform you can see this.
games are for entertainment only and application is for improving user experience on the platform.
you can see this everywhere iTunes,Android app store,Chrome web store it is applied on almost every platform so i hope it should also work for PS3 scene.
(but you should also notice that PS3 scene is lot different from the platforms mentioned above)
So long as everyone knows what the categories are up front that's a great idea. It takes a very different skill set to create a game, than a port of something, than a PC utility, or than a PS3 based utility. So I'm not certain games and apps/utilities should be in the same category.
If you really want to support homebrew, and this is just my opinion, you guys will look for submissions to use PSL1GHT or the CELL SDK --- since I would wager no homebrew developer has a license to develop on the Official Sony SDK. That would encourage people to make the PSL1GHT SDK better and get more people involved in creating tools and libraries for free and legal development. But, That's just my two cents. ;-)
Great feedback guys. We'll be sure to incorporate these suggestions for the January contest. We'll post an official announcement of the January contest rules tomorrow...oh yeah and also announce the winners of the December contest. Get your last minute votes in today.
