any advantaged using this over multiman?
It's faster
multiMAN does so much more as to why it take a little bit longer to load up
imo it doesn't really seem to load any quicker plus multiman is so pretty lol
I think Iris/Hermes Manager was designed to resemble WiiOS, as was Hermes's Wii backup manager
Didnt Dean sahvhis program ran slower (CPU wise) to make it less likely to overheat? I tried Iris and 5 out of 6 times it turned itslef off before I could even get to load a game, because it was "too hot".
There is one very importnat edge that Iris Manager has over multiMAN. Its an open source project.
Something that is vital in any homebrew community. Open source is what drives development in a homebrew scene like ours
I like multiMAN and deank alot i use it often and am apperciative of the work deank has put in.. but its something you cant deny that open source is way to be
While multiMAN may be better for some end user with its large feature set. For development and progression of homebrew IrisManager is much better. So iris manager should never be frown upon IMO.
Good news is multiMAN is set to be open source sometime soon. Hopefully it is sooner rather then later. I feel that is the proper move to make. Hopefully that brings the scene closer together for the common goal of unlocking the potential of our ps3 to the fullest.
maybe psp and ps2 iso support would make me shit my pants
funny is this seems more of a multiMAN thread than an Iris thread, lol, whether or not Dean goes open source or not I myself could care less. I don't think it will change the way the scene is. It won't spark the anti-pirate devs to release what they have any sooner if at all. It won't stop certain devs or users from slandering other devs or users. Nothing is going to change, except maybe $0nY might give up when PS4 is released
