While I admire his confidence and his work because this guy is a talented guy.
He delivers some great work.
But isn't it better for him to stay of the radar as long as the lawsuit is going.
I mean this guy is being sued for almost a million, and as the community would gladly donate to help him out, nobody wants to have a million euro fine on is ***.
Either way awesome work man, I can finally Run my PS3 as a 3D rendering powerhouse again and even with more power
is there ANY way at all curently to run YDL i know its old but im not linux fluent and YDL is what i was learning on and would like to use it again]
GRAF your a god id donate to you over egohot any day your not claiming all the work for your self neither are you hoging the spotlight from those that did do the legit work keep it up
Good news Grandy so can i install it to my Waninkoko V2 CFW
I think it'd be easy to have YDL or any other distro now that AsbestOS can boot kernels that use real extfs partitions on USB disks. I'd first downgrade to 3.15, install the distro normally, then transfer all files (with intact permissions) to a USB disk having extfs as first partition. Then update to 3.55 and try if AsbestOS can boot it. It'd probably take little tweaking of kboot.conf, /etc/fstab and maybe some asbestos configuration file to archieve the rest.
I don't know if YDL, Ubuntu or Debian makes that much a difference. On YDL there was a nice fast mplayer binary package though, which had PS3 output plugin (SPU scaling and colorspae) and multithreaded ffmpeg with altivec optimizations. I could never get that good mplayer to compile on ubuntu, but I probably had wrong versions of some tools.
Nice work Graf. It is somehow amusing but also saddening to see how Sony can put police to raid people who only want to run Linux on a game console, like it'd be a crime. I never saw Nintendo or Microsoft doing that so I must say I love them much more as companies and I don't want to buy any stuff from Sony directly anymore. Got to keep up the fight to have even little chance this all can change the laws as first cases. It's about wanting to do something that should be a human right VS a blind company which has only bought law people to fight to the end because it can. I have no clue why they are doing all the suing.. lol, like it'd do any difference against piracy or like they'd need the "compensations".

So, here we go:
- The ps3wiki talks about a petitboot, is this petitboot any special to use on a CFW JB ps3? Are there any tuts to teach how to make a .pkg of this petitboot?
- Once with this petitboot, can I use the old PS3 distros to install it in the internal HDD? Or, Do I have to manually partition the Internal HDD (Ext3 and Swap) following the orientation of not writing the partition on the first segment (GameOS segment)?
- Once this distro is installed, Do I use Graf's new Kernel and recompile on the newly installed LInux?
- Is it possible to take advantage of a old distro and make a new one with Graf's new Kernel, so we can install in a CFW PS3 like normal linux using petitboot?
Sorry for this questions. I know this is only for developers, but I couldn't wait.
