Great, I love HomebrewHere's a video of the Tool (watch in 720p on YouTube!)
I ended up having to reinstall all my PKG's after a little mishap moving them to the ext. First off after i moved my psn titles to the external, i noticed when in HDD mode where the psn titles used to be was blank screen ( the one that shows part of a playstation controller, or when you are installing something. So i figured "might as well delete these since they are on my ext. now" Well, after that they no longer worked on external. So i was re-doanloading/installing my psn games for like 3 hours last night directly to the external. Works like a chram though, just thought that warning should be out there. ALSO if you want your saved games saved DON't delete the info in ps3 utility saved games. Turtles in time reshelled pops up a message different user so saving and trophies will be disabled. Also street fighter 3 wouldn't install for me. Kept getting error half way through. What about other apps though? do they also go into the GAMEI folder? can we put our emulators in there?
n/m tested it myself and all app/emulators go into GAMEI folder and all seem to be working![]()
Thank you so much!!!
I posted this http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/pla...ilbreak-85396/ (Play PSN games, Homebrews, Emulators, PKG Games using your External HDD (Works on Any CFW or Jailbreak)) a few months ago, few people pay attention. This is samething, but this app can make the process easy.
Thanks for such a wonderful application! Been waiting for ages..![]()
Works
But there is a bug, some games dont shown after restart,
have to instal them again.
I can confirm this.
I think It's interesting to note that installing your most used apps such as multiman on both external and internal drives is very useful, that way it can be accessed from either mode.
I had hoped this would also allow disc games to install their data to the external drive as well, unfortunately only packages are possible. I wish there was some way to achieve this as it seems kind of redundant and space hogging to have the same data on the hard drive twice.

Hope this is still being worked on/updated, as its a great idea but I've had a few problems. Trouble installing a few games in usb mode, also had my ps3 freeze twice now, just while browsing games in usb mode, and I've only had the thing installed for a day or two now.
I need the assistance of dev:
Here is the plan:
I have three external HDDs. We know that multiMAN has a feature that enables the EXT GAME DATA (EGD). That basically when we enable this feature on a game that sits in any of the three external HDDs it make that external HDD be the (1) external HDD that gameDATA Tool does.
I wonder if it would be easy to create a dummy param.sfo and eboot to just do exactly that? We can create a dummy game for each external HDD and name them so they can either be at the top of the list in the Game list in multiMAN. So when we execute that game that has the EGD feature enabled, it will make that external HDD into the (1) external HDD so we can then play the PSN game backups on that particular drive? Of course we won't load the dummy game once we are on the XMB menu, but we instead look for the PSN games on that particular ext drive.
The dev could create such dummy parama.sfo and eboot so multiMAN can read it and think it's a game, but for us it's just a tool to assign any of our multiple external HDDs to be the (1) HDD needed to install pks and PSN game titles.
UPDATE:
I'll be releasing my method soon. I think I figured it out and I just did a test and it works great! I can assign any external HDD to be the (1) HDD!!
UPDATE 2:
I just wanted to report that I did do my little project and it works fine: Click Here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f188/ext...jay-jay-98513/
I also wanted to inform you that I also concur with the above findings. If you have already installed the PSN pkg to the internal HDD and you want to transfer the game to the external HDD [GAMEI folder], you can do so (no need to reinstall it from scratch). You can then delete the folder inside the GAME folder of your internal after the transfer. Just don't delete the icon in the XMB game menu, since that will stop it from working. Leave that ghost image in the XMB, and when you later are in External HDD mode, that ghost icon will then show the game icon correctly.
