Has anyone tried to pass the ps3 signal through a video processor?

like the ones that upscale the video image? i know some dont do anything, but a few have fairly good results using impressive algorithms to compensate the "pixel ladders" and such, plus - no software setup required, and no audio sinc loss

(though audio sinc issues should not be an issue if you are passing everything though the pc)

It's academic. This guy has simply shown it can be done. It's not practical, not by a long shot, but it can be done.As for people talking about games taking advantage of this technique, don't hold your breath. The PS3's underlying video tech is ancient by today's standards. FXAA is the child of "modern" video GPUs, and the horsepower required on the PS3's GPU would pretty much wipe out the use of any other standard effects we've become accustom to, and would also probably downgrade the imagery so badly, AA would be the least of your worries.

You know, sometimes it's all about the journey, not the destination. I see some people saying this is a waste of time, or a hassle. To many others this is a cool and fun project to do. It's not always about the end result. I've add countless mods to my PS3 the I hardly ever use, but it sure was fun modding it.
