He did - he sent a PM to one of the admins suggesting it, and that got posted in the specific thread in the Admin's section - and I immediately voiced my disapproval of it when that was revealed - another guy that I respect disagreed with it too but felt the theme was still good so he did want to partake in the freebie.

BTW - 'dongles' - I already had a TI-84 before the jailbreaking of the PS3 happened - so it cost me nothing.

at first it was suggested by someone in the thread, well yes I had a iPod for jailbreaking but then bought dongles for ease but not everyone has been blessed w/ a device for jailbreaking. Plus as it is right now to get the Cobra essentials you'll need to buy that

With all due respect to the two camps apposed. Nothing great will come forward with all the hurtful statements being bombarded in this thread. Please, by all means, try to overcome this train of thought by coming to terms that we all can (from time to time) learn to agree to disagree. Right now many of our beloved devs are being put on a vice by enemies with deep pockets and we as the scene must show stamina and good heart, and I'd like to repeat an old, by so true proverb, and that is: United we stand, divided we fall.

I'm not smart - I just have the guts to say the obvious - say what needs to be said - when there's a big fat elephant in a room, you can bet I'm going to point out that it's there instead of pretending it isn't there.

Unfortunately, it seems I'm very much in the minority when it comes to these things - and the people who do say the same things that I feel need to be said are easily defamed as 'trolls' or 'leechers'. Apparently, the truth is not 'convincing' enough unless it comes from somebody who does development work on PS3 themselves. That is sad in and of itself - because anybody can tell that this isn't right.

This is precisely why I mostly abstain from posting on this site. If I even wrote half the things I wanted to I would probably be banned already, as I'm sure you would if you hadn't been a prominent developer. I take my solace from the assumption that we aren't in the minority on viewpoint, but are in fact too smart to get involved in what will mostly likely be our own downfall.

Seriously though, some of the stuff I see on this site, and sites like it, make me quite concerned about the future. I realise it's a specific demographic but you would figure these kids are the smart ones compared to those on the Justin Bieber sites. That thought alone is depressing.

I don't like 'donationware' yes. I guess I must not 'like anything' then and am therefore not entitled to my opinion.

I also don't like a homebrew scene being destroyed by people thinking they should apply the 'Apple App Store'/'Cydia' model to it - something which he also suggested to the admins in fact.

I wonder if that same train of thought would work for a prostitute, if they could have 'forced donations' since, it's not prostitution without selling the sex, the 'john's' are just.. making 500 dollar donations

First off, I know we're smart enough to know I was not talking to you when I told people to "quit flaming". But I am glad that you responded and created some positive conversation in this thread.

Well, typing something has more to do with smarts then guts. As for saying what needs to be said, and pointing out what may or may not be obvious to others, this is always a plus.

I agree with the fact that forming complex thoughts and informative opinions are posted far and few inbetween here. With you and others creating open conversations like this one you and I are having, perhaps more users will want to become more involved with there "sayings".

I do not even want to talk about labels. Everyone feels they have the right to call anyone anything now days. Instead of being intellegent enough to say "I feel this way about that, or "If you think I am talking to you, I probably am." Let people label themselves. "I'm not crazy, I'm a f@cking table!"

And I agree with not trusting anyone, until they have earned it. Which is done here by a matter of respect. If you're a flamer, people are going to know. If you are informative (whether a member or deleloper), people are going to know, and want to review your thoughts.

Anyways, big story short, thanks for the conversation. It is always good to learn.

PS, about the admin bribe, that was my idea too (I contacted the designer and told him it should not be called a donation, it should be called a bribe. To which he told me, he was extemely offended, and told me to delete his posts, and his account. I responded with, sure if you "donate" a copy of TMC 1.5 to me! We worked things out after that.)

Whatever happened, it is in the past. Is this really the place to hold grudges? Unless you have the same problem with someone over and over again, then by all means, "point out the elephant", we all appreciate it here!

Its shagratt71 here. I thought I would let you know I've had my account terminated due to security reasons. Sadly some idiot took it upon themselves to hack my account and e-mail address. I will be continuing to do graphics for the ps3 however in a very small way and only releasing it to people I can trust. Please feel free to make it know that I am no longer around to answer any questions regarding the media cabinet.
