After paying close attention when the game boots up, I don't see the MOVE Video splash. I thought I did, but I was cursing at my cat trying to sharpen his claws (nails) on my leg calf--it's not worst than a dog trying to hump your leg, but I am wearing shorts!!

So I thought it might have, since you mentioned it earlier. But no, no Move splash screen for me. Though in the settings it does ask me if I want to calibrate a motion controller, so it does have that capability. I wonder if someone was clever enough to pull that sequence in order to fix the problem you are having? Perhaps that's it???

Hopefully you can find another file to test. Let me know, so I can make some special notes of it in the PSN Game compatibility list. Since right now I put there that some may have an issue if your TV doesn't support 720p.

    ...... wow....... that's weird
Anyway, This will be the 4th version of this that I'm gonna try. I know it works on your system, so I know I've got valid files. I've got a couple ideas if I still have a problem. I've already tried just removing the video files, but I'm gonna try creating dummy zero-length files, or like you said, putting dummy known valid video files in their place. It also might be freezing when checking for an update, I'll have to check to make sure my rebug firmware is still using the default servers or if I left it on one of the debug/tester servers. Maybe I'll have to disable my internet access when launching.... got a few other ideas, but it'll have to wait for another day - slow fother mucking internet connection. I'll get back with you if I get it working so you can update the compatibility list. Thanks for all your help

I actually own a copy of Disgaea 3 (ps3 still hacked, kmeaw 3.55), Installed both pkgs fine, but nothing seems to have changed. Im at the end of the game, in the epilogue, and all that, still nothing. So im just wondering if it even works if you own the actual game?

@Jay-Jay I've got it working with the 3.41 patch we were talking about. It still didn't work with my 1080 switching itself to 480. It still froze. I had to manually change my ps3 settings composite/svideo and audio input connector (Yellow/Red/White cables) This patch didn't have the move support logo like I mentioned earlier but Blackatoo's repack and the one I found on Black Cats did for some reason. It's a weird glitch and will probably be fixed in an update but none are available as of now. Please update the compatibility thread in case someone else has the same problem - thanks again for your help.... damn I'm saying that too much lately

@BahumatLord, now I wonder if these display-video settings you made on your console could have also fixed the same issue you had with the other patch file for this game?

I also wonder if the difference between the 3.55 patch vs. the 3.41 patch is that the 3.55 version allows the console to show the MOVE splash screen? Which I believe there might be a file that triggers this display (even though this splash screen isn't necessarily inside the game's files). Just guessing at this point!

I wonder if your problem is that you are not using an HDMI cable? I wasn't clear on what type of connection you were using between your console and TV before you switched cables. But I figure right now you are using the composite cable (Yellow, White, and Red), and this helped you play the game at least at 480p or 480i.

I should probably clarify if anyone's having the same issue with Hydrophobia and a tv that doesn't support 720. My ps3 is connected through an hdmi cable for the 1080 setting on my tv. I also have the original yellow/red/white cable that came with my ps3 hooked up to a different tv input because sometimes I move my ps3 to the living room tv to watch a movie with company and that tv doesn't have an hdmi input. Since my tv doesn't support 720 it will revert to 480 to play some games. When launching Hydrophobia Prophecy it would freeze (no hd access) after changing resolutions. I figured out that by manually changing my ps3 to 480 using the original cables instead of the hdmi one and then launching the game, it worked perfectly. I have since tested the other patches from different sources and it ends up the same way. It may just be a glitch on my system (ps3 slim uncharted bundle + Rebug 3.55.2.6) but if anyone else is having similar trouble, just change to using your original RCA cables and it should work. It's a little bit of a nuisance, but I'd imagine that it will be corrected in a future update

@Jay-Jay - Finally decided to get off my lazy butt and fix Punisher No Mercy for 480 tv's (by default it only supports 720 + 576) since I can't find a US release of it. I said earlier that I tried just editing the sfo after it was installed but that the ps3 didn't recognize the changes. I used pkgview to extract the contents and I've been trying to rebuild it after editing the SFO, but apparently I'm using older tools. When I try to launch the game, it gets further along than before which is a good sign and seems to recognize the changes I made in the SFO, but I get error 80010009 which some people say is bluetooth related or due to non npdrm encryption. Could you point me to a good tool to use to package the files correctly?

I think you will struggle with this release. We know that the lowest video size it can support is 576p, which probably means it doesn't have any video that is smaller than that size, so if you try to get 480p, it's just not going to happen. You gotta keep in mind with video files that the game may have.

Now then, the way I learned to decompress and then compress a PKG can be found here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f149/%5B...nations-88209/ ([Mega-Thread] HACKING a PS3 - Tutorials and Explanations) I used the Windows version of the tutorial. I hope that helps.

On a side note, what brand and model is your TV? I'd probably be able to check if it's up for a firmware update. It's very odd for an 1080 HDTV that doesn't support 720p. Especially since OTA signals can sometimes be broadcast at 720p--how does it cope with those signals?

Also what did you use to edit the PARAM.SFO? If you need help with that, I can edit it for you. Just attached it here in a zip file. A while back I helped another person who has only a 480 TV to be able to play Grand Theft Auto 4, and once I gave him a proper edited Param.sfo, he was able to play that game, since it did not support 480.

@Jay-Jay. I've had to do this several times for disc based european games and never had a problem dropping them to 480. 576 is just the pal version of 480. My tv or ps3 seems to handle the conversion from pal to ntsc just fine. My TV is an old Panasonic CT-34WX54J. It's an old style tube tv (not a flat screen). I haven't seen a usb port on it and it's not an internet connected device, so I wouldn't know how to update even if there was one unless I could do it through the hdmi port somehow. How I edited the sfo file was to use ps3 list to change the resolution. I had to create a couple dummy directories so it would read it as a disc game. Here's the corrected file I have if you could check it - PARAM.TXT - I had to change the extension to TXT so I could upload it. I think I managed to get the ps3 to recognize the change I made to it by repackaging the game with this file, but I think I'm just stuck at a NPDRM issue. This is the first time I bothered to make a pkg and I guess I'm missing something. I'm gonna take a look at the guide and see if I can get it worked out. After getting Hydrophobia working, this is the last game that I haven't been able to get working and it's driving me nuts (OCD I guess)
