That is a frekkin' good question. I hear there is the possibility to download warez for the PS3 too - why don't sony go after those pirates? Or those who make cheats for PSN games?

Perhaps I should go pirate. Seems it is a lesser offense than running linux. Everyone keeps telling how cool BlackOps is, and how PSN multiplayer is the best thing since sliced bread. As things are now, I fear to buy new (official) games. Who knows what sort of rootkit lurks there... a few HV calls that on OFW would return just ENOACCESS, but on a kmeaw FW cause the console to brick... I just wouldn't put it past Sony to do that nowdays. I keep telling me that there is no engineer (even at Sony) who would be that evil. But then I see the trolls on this site and fear what would happen if they learned computer engineering!

Linux (or BSD) on PS3 is a must. Games I can play on my PC, if needed.

Here is a thought... a game CANNOT cost 70+ USD, never in the whole history, there is the reason for piracy not this... consoles hav been hacked for as long my memory let me remember, also, none sued the hackers for it, so i think sony is hurt because hackers found out that the console wasn't all that secure, whitch was promised to game developers.
