grazie amico italiano, btw, nobody cares for a ****** linux on ps3, I didnt buy a 300 euro game machine to do Linux stuff on PS3 while I have 3 different pc's at home. Some hackers hide behind this pathetic excuse to play pirated games. Its all about piracy, and maybe 5% about homebrew.

You may have never used linux on your ps3,and maybe you won't ever use it but the matter is that some people did bought the ps3 to use linux,an advertised feature sony was so proud of at launch.
Oh and for your information,playing with roms is also pirating.You idiot.

Since we are talking about piracy, id like to show some real numbers:

Total Number of PS3 sold (31/12/10) - 47.9 million

Total of games sold as of 06/10 - 315.3 million (not even counting the 6 million GT5 alone sold since the census was before its release)

Srysly, its impossible to establish the number of ppl actually pirating on the ps3, but after a little research on the main piracy sites and scene releases id say around 50 000 to 100 000, and that would be world wide.

Now lets see:

Average Number of Games per user: ~ 6.5 Games

Percentage of users that piracy - ~0.1% to 0.2%

"Profit" Lost By Developers Because Of Piracy - ~ 0.65% - 1.3%


The amount of money Sony is "losing" with piracy, is probably not even enough to cover their legal expenses with all this lawsuits.

Would even like to note, that the Xbox 360, that has a much bigger problem with piracy, has sold 40 million more games then the ps3 and 3 million more consoles.

So really i simply don't get why all this fuzz about it.

mmmm seems sony is the only ones allowed to pirate in the world i wish i could work for sony and then i could do some of there coverup pirating but no they dont copy games or music they copy hardware lol

most people think that after this if sony loose that they will be insanely munted and never sell another ps3 ever again as the article says and as we speak sony will prob find a way to get theres consoles into europe and that will give them there funding and they have there other possible ways of getting money hell they have 2 court cases on the go aswell while there also funding both of them if they win one and get there 750 000 euros off graf then that will also fund sony i dont see them falling because of this

sony and lg are very rich corporations and this balanceing act is already in motion
so if sony win they get payed damages from lg and if lg win then they get compensation from sony

where are these main pirate sites at by the way? i wanna make those numbers to 50,001-100,001. im not a pirate but since i keep getting called a pirate might as well do it!

As much as I have hated you Turkish about past posts.. I will have to agree with you on this statement. However Homebrew is more like 50% for me since I am a developer as well.. I haven't coded anything for the PS3 however I did find it sluggish compared to other computers I have built linux on. There is not alot of ram on the PS3 and I find that a drawback in itself.

Btw, may Sony sell as much PS3's as the PS2 so they keep providing us with top notch quality games. Pirates should be banned, their consoles bricked and houses raided, for epic lulz and massive tear drops.
