Just use you'r 3.55 kmeaw everything should work just great for you. I missed the part about backups, the games that work with multiman will still work the same on cfw 3.55 dex new games need to be put on a usb hdd formatted for the BD emulator and install an update for the game, I use 4.20 dex to play the games like that.
ps. If you get stuck let me know I'll try to help in any way I can, that goes for anyone that will be willing to help the next guy with his problems.

New simple DEX tut:
Dump old flash in multiman: To dump flash: mmOS->Select any file->Open in HEX viewer->[SELECT]->[START]->DUMP LV2(NO)->DUMP LV1(NO)->DUMP FLASH(YES)
Use eEID_RKDumper.pkg to get your eid_root_key and run it through CEX2DEX with your original dump to make a DEX dump
Then press x twice on the DEX dump in multiman to install it, reboot and install a DEX update................PROFIT.
I just tested this way on my NOR slim and it took under ten minutes, YAY

ok so I got my rootkey, i renamed it to dump and i copied it to the CEX2DEX folder, i also loaded my flash file and dump file. I hit the CEX 2 DEX button, i renamed the file and I copied it to USB, opened multiman and double clicked on it. I got a yes no promt and clicked yes, i get "the file you provided is not compatible with your system"

Will this work for me if Multiman says my system is: Firmware 3.55 [SC-8 | Hermes] but my system in the main menu says Version 3.56?

It didn't take long to make this an easy process. Thanks for all the hard work going into this.
