I don't think it will brick your ps3 on its own, but it does mean that it's essentially useless for stopping ps3 bricks if you improperly flash your ps3 with the E3 Flasher tool.

Exactly as Alaude Drenxta said. Until this app is updated we should stay clear of it since it does not check every possible aspect of the dump therefore bricking can still occur. It is a nice try by E3 as an initial release but they should have stipulated that not all checks where done and by leading me to believe that this would guarantee a 100% dump.
