This is why the US government, people, and other countries are suing them over failure to notify the consumers that their credit card information could have been stolen...they were slow...they can wait to confirm but they can give a warning that it is a possibility! US Government agencies are investigating the situation just as they investigate ALL INTRUSIONS of this size. Last I heard all investigations have concluded and are now closed.

And no, the creditcards weren't encrypted. They weren't posted because hackers didn't want to screw the costumers over, just SONY.

Warranty is something the company gives you as an insurance that they have a quality product, and trust in it's functionality enough to gurantee that if it malfunctions, they'll make it up to you. The very fact that SONY made a warranty that can never outlast the console's lifespan, faulty or not, proves that SONY were AWARE of it's system's problems, yet decided to screw you over anyway.

And did you even read the articles?! SONY lied!! They didn't report until they were pressured to!! The attack first struck on the night of the 17th of April. the day after, the PSN was down. No one knew what happened and demanded answers. SONY did not respond even though they had pretty much known were it came from. only a WEEK later, after an incredible amount of pressure from constumers and the media, SONY revealed what happened, and the compromisation of Credit Cards.

even if they weren't sure if the information was indeed compromised, do you think it's in any way ETHICAL to hide that kind of info from you, given you gave your CC information?! IT TOOK A WEEK!!! in one Week, I could empty all of your CC without you even noticing, because SONY didn't want to tell you.

WTF is your point? Sony reported within a week. Most companies do not report until after a MONTH and many companies NEVER REPORT. Ah well, I can see by your post that you are ignorant about such things.
