I was just wondering do you have full video card hardware acceleration with this?
Actually I am not sure about it, maybe someone with more experience can answer this question.
I know that someone created videodriver for RSX.
But as I know --Linux runs with GameOS rights --so I think it can use all power resources.
At list I did not notice any lag when running Midori web-browser..
Anyway, maybe some devs can answer your question....
Well I am happy that my guide can help to thousands of Ps3 users---install Linux to ps3 through Internet.
It is very useful for people without working BD-Drive.
But have that guide is noob-friendly....
I hope that people will like it....
That's great, thanks.
But what are the main differences between this way and the alright existing ways.
Is sound enabled now?
And is it possible to activate the full range of compiz?
Well --with this "Way of Installation Linux"to your ps3 you do not have to burn DVD-Disc.And you wont wear and tear your BD-Drive in PS3. Do you know how many BD-Drives were dead in Fat PS3s? A lot.
But also you can use this tutorial with Slim PS3 and thus save your BD-Drive.
You just connect your PS3 with Ethernet Cable to the Internet and Type commands from my Tutorial--and thats it--It downloads from Internet the necessary parts in order for our Linux to function.
After hour or hour and a half--depends how quickly you can type on keyboard---You have working Linux Operating System. Sounds amazing to me.
Sound working well and video. There is music player in LXDE called LXMUSIC---it plays well.
Also you can play video with Dragon Player.
There is Synaptic Package Manager. In Synaptic are thousands of different APPS---you just find what you want by typing it, or choose from categories there.
You can install there Internet browser, Open Office , Xchat Email software---pretty much Everything like on Desktop Linux PC. So it is really amazing.
And if to Consider that it is all given to you for free---then why not take it?
Thousands of different APPS for free? Sounds amazing to me, isnt it ?
Actually I am not sure about Compiz Fusion , like can it work actually--because It rely on hardware acceleration ---which is not possible to achieve without good video drivers.
I know that Glevand have written some drivers, but how good they are I do not know...
Anyway Linux is really amazing thing...
I like Linux. Hope I can install it to my ps3.
Отличный мануал || Excellent manual
