3.50 debug units can play online, and are not prompted to update to 3.55. They are actually never prompted to update, but they will get logged out of PSN on lower firmwares than 3.50 now. They used to be able to play online with almost any firmware (all the way down to about 2.70 firmware or so). However, once retails started spoofing debugs to play online, debugs stopped working online unless you updated to 3.50.

THANK YOU for the response. So with that info u just said we can assume sony will know if u are playing with a "fake" debug console and can block you like they did with 3.41

Sony reads these blogs and websites just like you guys. Once they see that there's a method to play PSN on jailbroken consoles, then they'll patch it.

I don't see how they could patch this, they could update for debugs, but it'd be difficult to stop completely, as it could be re-done
