I'm not trying to be negative here, but I really don't understand the point of most of these mods. I may be misunderstanding here, but when you say xxxx character must be on the fight, does that mean the game will freeze unless you're fighting him/her? If so that leaves most characters completely unplayable by normal standards.

I mean no disrespect, as I am happy that people are trying to work on modding this game, but from the descriptions above, all of these "mods" sound completely undesirable.

True there are limitations to the's mod's on this Mod pack.but
Towards some of the's Mortal Kombat player's that have always wanted to do some things you cant normally do.
At this time there is going 2 be limitations.
Towards are mk9 modding community this is big for us to use latter for even more Breakthrough's.
So on one hand this is no't the short cut in dry average mod, But More like a Mod to learn and grow from.

however if you are playing tag ladder or a tag match,it allows you to play/use that specific mod,say for instance the swapped xrays,mind you swapped babalities dont need the other char,unless you want to hear the missing sfx for that babality.
also if a character like scorpion_b(alt.costume) which i modded,shao kahn doesnt need to be on the fight,if you perform the xray agaisnt another character,scorpion will freeze and be completely invulnerable against any attacks.
so yeah,this pack was more intended with tag ladder gameplay,not only that but brutalities,mercy,anti-fatality and auto fatalities can be done on 1p with no issues whatsoever.
in other words,save for the char_ files,you dont need another character to be on the fight to use the other parts of this modpack.

i want to mention,this same thing(swapping sfx and vo through scriptbinary) can be done on vs dc universe,and im sure it works better since every vo or sfx file is out,so you dont need the other char to eb on the fight,i still have to test it,but it looks like it will work better with mk8 than mk9.

I didn't care for the costume, fatality, and nude mods, but the 1.05 patch was the real gem that was missing.

I'll add this to my ps3 that has been collecting dust, but I don't find myself playing this game much anymore. It's a great game, but if you have OFW and go online, that's where the real challenges are.

i honestly more of an offline player,and keeping in mind i've heard mk9 online isnt very good,i would probably pass for online,hell mk9 is 85% offline and 15% online focused,very different from most games today.
still,i hope with the new mk(whenever its released) they use the same patch system as mk9,as it is one of the easiest patch systems to crack,now thinking about it,i might go to killzone 3 and crack the latest patch,but we'll see.

Not to be a downer LOL but I was kinda dissapointed in MK9 overall as a game. The fatalities was ALOT better in like trilogy and deception since the fatalities had like meaning with the characters. Most in MK9 is just gory with no meaning (if that made any sense) but if you played all the MK games from MK1 - MK9 you will see what I am talking about.

Trilogy and MK Deception were my favorite games. MK9 is pretty much beefed up graphics (dont get me wrong MK9 is VERY FUN but the fatalites is just a let down)

fatalities for me in mk9 are awesome for the most part,but fatalities on mk3/umk3/trilogy werent very good,mk2 was by far the best.
and i found trilogy broken and i mean BROKEN.
noob saibot speaks volumes about how much broken trilogy is,i still heavily prefer umk3 over trilogy any day.
that's not to say trilogy is a bad game,its just a very rushed game.
