360 Scene Coming To Life?

From Team Xecuter's website...

We have made some progress with a new read/patch/write app and no doubt you will all be plugging in your drives to your PC and having some fun shortly - all for free too as no modchips required (and yes we still want to play!)

Here is what we envisage...

> Connect Xbox 360 DVD-ROM to PC
> App to update firmware with magic code
> Connect DVD-ROM back to 360 - and away you go

Obviousley the only use for this is piracy - hence you wont see any modchips (not from us at least - however they wouldn't be needed anyway - however we do have a few cheap tools to make life much easier - more on that soon) Still a long long way off from unsigned code - but it's a start....

It's good to see some sceners with balls these days.

hell yea man this news is very exciting for me, I will definitely be getting a 360 if this comes through and is good as it sounds, what I'm worried about is MS doing an update or some which will disable the hack... But i don't really know what i'm talking about so we'll see.

yeah but....i dont see how xbox would fix it permanetly....you could always just flash it back....and if you dont go online its even better!

I won't be going online (paying to play is BS, when I'd already be forking over more than $400), so this is great news for me. However, I thought all 360 games were on HD-DVD. Or are the games plain ol' DVD9s with HD content?

The 360 does not have a HD-DVD reader...
games are on DVDs

m$ is planing on launching a HD-DVD reader for the 360 from what ive reed its going 2 set u back about 100$

and the hd-dvd rom will not play games....thats seems like a lie and stupid...

The bottom line is this... It doesn't matter which media format they use, who is going to have the best games? I don't see Microsoft becoming anything more than the fanboy console they already are.
