Wireless Connection
I want to know if this is possible. I want to get my PS2 online by having it connect to my laptop which has a wireless connection. I looked at a diagram on the online start up disc and it says I have to make a wireless bridge?
I'm using Windows XP and a SCPH 75001.
Thanks

I've read about this before with it being done with full network capability. Sorry I can't provide an address, but I do remember that ICS was turned on in windows, but I can't remember exactly how they did it.

Well what I tried but failed was to enable ICS in the properties of my LAN connection in "Network Connections". Then I highlighted my wireless connection and my lan connection, right clicked and choose bridge connections. However my PS2 online configuration just stayed frozen at DHCP authorization or something like that.

I know it can easily be done when using dialup on the cpu, but when trying to use the wireless lan as the internet source piping it through to wired lan, the wired usually wants to act as the source. I still haven't found a way around that. as for your direct problem, you'll probably have to create a static ip connection profile in the ps2.

I found out how to do it. I'll create a new thread hopefully it will be stickied.
Actually forget about a new thread, if enough people ask how then I'll post it. But the reason why Windows attempts to use the wired LAN connection is because the Wired is set to public (so it connects to the internet) and the wireless was set to private (so it connects to the internet via other computers). You have to run network setup wizard and configure the laptop/PC to be the computer that connects directly to the internet then THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT you have to set the wireless connection as the public connection. After that's done, click finish to exit wizard. Now open up Network Connections Start->Control Panel-> Network Connections. Right click the wireless network and go to properties. Click the Advanced Tab and enable Internet Connection Sharing. And you're done.
To check if you've done it properly, the wireless network icon in the Network Connections windows will have a hand holding the icon. And the ICS option will only be selectable for the public connection (in this case the wireless connection). Now plug the ethernet cable from your PS2 to your laptop/PC and enjoy. I can finally get my Codebreaker online so I don't have to enter so many damn codes (v14 doesn't support USB pen drive).

Interesting. I fought with that until i gave up and bought a router. That info might still come in handy. Thanks.
