I have a V10 with a 40 gig max and the network adapter. I bought this from slick and it seems to work great it has the matrix Infinity mod 1.2 and it has booted all games that I have so far. Ok here is where I am stuck. I can?t figure out how to set up the network card. Do I need the network disk? Or do I need to get a game that will let me set it up, If so which one? I have a router and I am connecting with cat 5. I turn on the ps2 with a memory card (If that even matters) and I no not see any activity at all on my router (does not even see the adapter). I want to play some games on line with some friends at work but I can?t seem to get it to work. I also have the mc exploit working it will boot free loader every time as long as I boot with a ps1 game and the memory card in which is cool but to get the game on the hard drive I need to burn to a cd then put in the ps2 and copy with free loader to the drive, well that?s great but I would love to be able to share the hard drive some how and just drag and drop if I can. It?s been a while and I?m sure I will get the hang of this but I?m not gaining a lot of ground so far. Please in dummy terms step by step what do I need to do next to get the network adapter working with my router and find a way to move files from pc to ps2 via same connection?

Another question what is the diff between HD_Loader_Tools_CloneCD_USA_PS2-KFC and HD_Loader_Cracked_USA_PS2-PS2OWNZ ? I have both but I only use the mc exploit that cam on the unit.

I just noticed that the port on my router is green when I boot up mc exploit and get into the free loader app. So I guess it is seeing the ps2. Shouldnt I see the ps2 as a new connection in network neighborhood? Do I need to dmz the ip address of the ps2?

You do need to DMZ IP the address of the ps2 to get all games to work correctly.
Other things to note:
You can't play online with games from the HD - HDLoader does not support online gaming.
I do not have a network adaptor disk and have managed to setup my network adaptor via the games with out problems.
It is not clear exactly which game you are trying to get online with, and what you are trying to do?
i.e. boot with Burnout 3 original (or dnas patched backup), setup network settings - it'll make you as there wont be settings available already. Setup via manual or auto depending on whether you want to issue a static ip address or not. Then get online and play.
Your PS2 will not appear in your network neighbourhood at all.
If you are just trying to get HDLoader working then you don't need to setup the network adaptor at all.
If you are trying to link to the PC to copy games via the network then you need to config the homebrew app you are going to use on the Ps2 i.e. execftp etc.

no you wont see the ps2 as a new network connection..you have to get the network disk..with the disk you put in your ip address, dns address, etc. once it is all done then all the settings is saved to your memory card. here is one link to help you out. http://home.pcisys.net/~mbent/ps2setup.html if you want more help then search yahoo or google for more instructions.

I do not have any orig ps2 games so I will need to go and get one I guess. If I cant see the ps2 in network neighborhood how to I acces the harddrive to move a game from the pc? How can I find out the ip address of the ps2 ( do I need an online game?) and once I know the Ip address do I just put that ip in the dmz on my router? I have more questions but I want to understand these first.

I do not believe the network disk would not help you. You need to configure homebrew software like execftp or faplink to get a PC speaking to a PS2
Personally I whip the hard drive out of the PS2, pop it in my PC and use HDL_Dumb or WINHIIP to transfer the games to the harddrive and pop it back in the ps2- it is over 10 times quicker that way.
Also you have a modchip, so can't you just use hdloader to install the games from disk (slower than the above method tho).
Unless of course you absolutely need network installation of Games then get searching for execftp and tutorials. Also you do not need an original game to setup the network adaptor, I used a burnout 3 backup.

Can I use faplink and just connect the cable to the back of my laptop? I am trying to set it up so I can remotely do this with out taking anything apart. I have downloaded every app I see out there so I might have what I need but I think I need an IP address to connect to the ps2? So if I will not see the ps2 in network neighborhood, I guess only apps like faplink can see the ps2, Can I use my flash fxp to upload to the ps2 drive? And once I do get the iso in the ps2 drive will it work with free loader? Man this is getting more and more confusing.
And Im looking for this now thnx::
