ToxicOS is a later version of HDLoader, created by the same programmer.
It was not originally available as an ELF, but only in the form of a custom modchip firmware.
Originally ToxicOS was available only as firmware for the DMS4pro modchip, but recently one of the same guys who made homebrew elfs out of HDLoader has done the same thing for ToxicOS, so it is now available in homebrew elf form for use without needing any modchip.Quote:

Note that while ToxicOS was the best in its time, that time is now long past.
Today OPL has surpassed all other game loaders for non-disc game backups.
(And for disc-based game backups ESR holds a similar position.)

cool :) i stopped playing with my ps2 years before the OPL release. But errm, since when can we play games online, from HDD ? I thought that was impossible.
I should read up on OPL i think.
I don't see why there should be a problem, as long as the LAN drivers are not 'busy' for loading the game ISO. So I think online gaming still does not work when running the games from a PC using SMB protocol.
But it should work (reportedly does) when running the game from storage either on a USB drive or on an internal HDD of the PS2.
I'm not sure to what extent this online stuff works with the public release of OPL v0.7 though, since a lot of things have changed in the beta revisions since that release (over 230 additional beta revisions).
That would probably be a good idea.Quote:

If you still have any interest in PS2 games, OPL is the way to go...
