    Hi, I have a issue with my NA. When i start hdld_svr on screen appear error:

    Code:
    hdld_svr-0.8.3a
    ########PS2SMAP.IRX failed to load with -1
    Failed to load
    Also in SMS & uLe network doesn't work for me (network starts without error but doesn't work).
    When i'm running on HDDOSDSYS in Version menu is showed my MAC address (still strange - MAC:00:00:00:00:00)

    This error appears on my two PS2s (v4 PAL w/ FMCB 1.8/Modbo 760 & v7 PAL w/ FMCB 1.8/Ripper 2 Gold). PC with WinXP is 100% good configured ('coz my friend's PS2 Slim works great with network).

    NA model is SCPH-10350
    (All HLD/OPL apps works - I can play games from hdd).

    Anybody can help me?

    //Sorry I don't speak english good

    @szczuru_pasja:
    Has either of those network adaptors had working network transfers anywhere (even on consoles not available now) ?

    The reason I ask is that I believe that such adaptors need a special initialization as done by the network setup routines of Sony, in order to fully enable the networking parts of the network adaptor. And if that has never been done, then it will only work for HDD access.

    So my advice to you is to find a Network setup disc (original or backup) and try to use that to fully initialize and configure your network adaptor. This should be a one-time-only need, so once it has been done you will never need to do it again, for that adaptor, but can then rely on using only homebrew configuration methods for it.

    Best regards: dlanor

    This is one NA (not 2) tested on my two ps2s.

    Ok i'll try setup with this Network Setup Disc. (You mean NAD? I don't have any other disc with NA)
    I thought i will be work without any special configuration (only configuration with app like uLe or SMS like in PS2Slim).

    Yes, I mean the one that should come with every Network Adaptor unit, and corresponding to the one that should come with every slim PSTwo, as they all have such a LAN port. (Though differently implemented in the latest models).

    I thought i will be work without any special configuration (only configuration with app like uLe or SMS like in PS2Slim).
    And so you should, later on, but I think the LAN port needs a very special first-time initialization, beyond what Sony have documented. At any rate, you have nothing to lose by trying.

    NAD isn't working for me (hangs with "circle" on screen - boot from HDD with HDL or OPL), but i've tried to configure LAN via Burnout Revenge and MGS3 Presistence (booted via OPL) and both games give me an error "No Network Adaptor found. Please Install properly Network Adaptor".

    Sounds like your Network Adaptor is faulty (Or some chip inside has died out due to age, or even dry solder joints!), or not connected properly.

    Try removing it and re-installing it (Remove the hard disk and try it without it too)?

    I got an NA recently... and even without using the disc (I can't use it to configure my NA!!) it can be detected, and shows a valid MAC address (Not IP address).

    I haven't tried running any online game with it though - but most probably I won't because I can't set it up.

    The setup disc I've got is a NTSC-U/C disc, but my PS2 is a NTSC-J PS2... and it won't boot that setup disc if I disable the modchip.

    With the modchip I'll only get error -402 (Modchip detected).

    For me it look like the Network adapter has a problem with the EEPROM chip. (MACADDR is stored on the eeprom)

    You can probably find an broken V12 or V13 PS2 and take the eeprom from it's built in NA chip and put on yours.
