The new Socom II patch released yesterday, checks if the Disc id is used more than once in the Socom II server. If that happens, the game displays a message like this: The unique ID is used by another person, please call $ony.
So basically, forget about 2 people playing with the same id at the same time, so....

We can't play online until "some release gruop" give us something to generate random disc id (i think THIS was a better tool than the id changer, i mean, more useful).

yes, EVERY dnas game CD has it's own disk ID. if you geenrate a random ID< it coudl conflict with a future ID. Therefore, the only potion is to just not pirate.

I don't think that was a big effort... just some crappy HEXA coder to generate random numbers. Those numbers are stored in the DNA$ server, so it checks every single disc that connect to internet, if some id is entered twice, the second one won't work.

Even if u don't know the court at Italy, failed against $ony, because all that "monopoly thing".
They said: "we bought our consoles to $ony, we bught our memory cards to $ony, we bought our controllers to $ony, we bought our networks adaptors to $ony... copied games won't hurt them".
What I'm tryin to say is that IM NOT against $ony, and I do NOT support piracy, but, there are some special cases. For example, here at south america, we don't have original games, so piracy is the only way to play anything.
We'll still buy things to $ony...

Well, with Socom II going Greatest Hit, there is no reason not to buy a copy if you wanna play online. At 19.99$, it's a steal. I bet some peoples would pay that much just for a unique DNAS ID.

are you saying u can't play if 2 people are using the same dnas id at the same time in the entire network or only if 2 ppl are using the same id in the same game?

well I wouldn't condone this activity, but all you have to do is rent the game at your local ****buster, and rip the ID from that...chances are it will be unique

but you didn't hear it from me!
