oh okay so what about how to use a wireless desktop to play online?
same thing setup a wireless connection between pc and modem, hook the ps2 up with the computer with a crossover ethernet cable and apply a network bridge, then run ur setup disc on ps2
The setup disc isn't really necessary... Any game that is online playable will let you do the setup.....
Ya i got it all going now perfect, there was no need for the disc it all worked through
the network set up option built into Fifa. That guide is on the ball worked perfect for me after a few times of messing about with it. Thanks for all the help.
your welcome and dopey I'll make note of that,I learn something new everyday here!!!
heeeey my guide!
about the missing network disc:
When i signed up to the official ps2 forums and registered my PS2 and Network Adapter with Sony of Australia, they sent me a new network access disc (that's what it's called here) in the mail, even though i got a disc and a cable with the network adapter. (i hear they don't give out cables with it in the US?) so i now have two identical network access discs for PAL region. (lucky me)
The network adapter has been discontinued here in Australia, but can still be found in some shops if you're lucky.
maybe with the slim PS2 you need to register it or something in some places to get the NAD
hm that's about the 5th time i've seen someone ask 'will it work with a desktop?' when they read that guide. a laptop is just a small computer with a battery... so... yeah usually.
and i always reccomend setting up the connection with the ps2 directly connected to the router first if you've never used the network adapter before.
here's the troubleshooting (sequel)
