Problems going online....
Problems going online.... –
from my other posts, u guys have probably discovered, i am trying to play online now...
so here are two problems i am facing when trying to connect...
1) the internet connection i am using is a private one, (not commercial).....and the administrators have put some decent security on it, like proxy, NAT, routers, blocked ports, etc..etc.. which i have no control over.......
now, i made a network configuration from my burnout 3 backup, which said the test was successful.......when i tried to connect burnout 3 using the new connection, i manage to connect, and then get a 402 DNA$ error. this was expected since I didnt put in the DNA$ code in that copy....
but the thing I want to say here is.......that i *could* connect.....
i then decided to try the same connection on some other online games.......some managed to connect and then gave the 402 DNA$ error (again, expected),.......but some refused to connect at all !!!!!
so my question is ........the games that *did* manage to connect (and then gave the 402 DNA$ error (expected)), provided i make another backup of them with their proper respective DNA$ codes, i can play them online right (since they did manage to connect).....as compared to ones that did *not* connect (which logically, i shouldnt be able to play even with their proper DNA$ codes inserted)..???
i am asking this cuz i heard each online game uses a seperate range of ports for online play,........so the ones that *did* connect, maybe ports for those games were not blocked by my admin, while the ones that did not connect, their ports were blocked ???
another evidence,......is that all the DVD backups of my EA games could connect.......maybe cuz all EA games use the same ports ???
2) my second question is based on the above theory..........i tried connecting my DVD backup of SSX 3,.........and it connected (then gave the DNA$ error -> expected)...........but i have a DVD rip of the SSX3 copy as well.........when i connected with the DVDrip,.........i got the 612 DNA$ error........which is:
The DNS resolver cannot be found. "DNAS Error (-612) A network error has occurred." Please double-check your network connection and/or network configuration.
why is this ? the DVD backup connects, by the CD backup doesnt ???
can someone please help me out ???
Not wanting to condemn your efforts but I have been told that if you try to play backups online then Sony will ban your IP address.
Don't believe everything you hear...
I play my backups online, no banning...probably shouldn't use the exact same patch ID's that everyone else does though...
As for your questions...why not patch a game and find out if you can connect...if you can, then you don't really have a problem at all..
u will only get banned if u use a id that alot of people use at the same time.
wat is ur ps2 ver and mod?
