Hello, i tried to play burnout 3 take down ntsc version online, when i tried to log in i got his message "cheating device detected". i have never used any cheats or cheating devices on my ps2 (fat scph 39004 i think it is pal and it is modded with matrix infinity 1.93 chip, 8 mb mmc, 1 joy pad, hdd adapter, samsung 80 gb hdd , cant remember adapters model at this moment. using newest mc boot). Any ideas why i am getting this message?

I have problems with Battlefield 2: Modern Combat ntsc online gaming, i cant log in or register a new acc at game spy, is there any way to get online?
Same problem with Toca Race Driver 3 pal.

Is there any way to get killzone (pal version) online without registering at central station?

Its the Modchip thats being detected as a 'cheat device'. I dont go online to play games, but i think theres a 'sleep' option that puts the modchip into a 'stealth' mode, but im not sure if your chip has this option.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

i can disable my modchip but then i wont be able to play not original games, and i have friend actually more than one that has the same chip and same burnout version and they can go on line.

P.S. other games such as star wars battlefront 2, area 51, call of duty and other... works fine in online mode

Maybe your friends know the right settings to use with your modchip , didnt you ask them how they were able to go online?

I do know that modchips are detected and thats the message you get when they are detected, so ask your friends how they got past the detection or wait til someone here replies that knows the answer.

Most likely your 'other' problems are just variations on the same theme.

If the game and/or server detects either what it thinks is a cheat engine or a false DNAS ID, then your login will be refused one way or another, though the message you get may vary (if any).

    Best regards: dlanor
