Rubbish! If you patch a backup, then DNA$ will NOT detect any modchip.

Rubbish! How they gonna ban you when DNA$ is checked before you reach any server where they could be able to obtain any info on your IP or PS2? If you patched DNA$ correctly on the game, then the check thinks you have a legitimate retail copy anyway.

Even more rubbish! You really dont know what you're talking about do you?
So what if an ID is used by a lot of people? Do you think Sony have never heard of game rentals? Why would they ban a legitimately rented game? Besides, the IDs in games are done in batches. So even if you buy the game, there will most likely be hundreds of people who's Disc ID is exactly the same as yours. It would be rather expensive to make a unique ID for every single disc pressed as it would mean pressing one, stopping production, changing IDs, pressing another & so on..
