OK, I've used the search feature and found lots of topics covering things that haven't helped me...so, here's my question...
I'm running Windows XP Pro, connecting through a Westell 327W and I have absolutely no networking experience...I am trying to configure hdl_dump/dumb...I've already installed it on my memory card via the exploit, and I also have the PC side installed...my whole problem is the networking procedure...
I need to know how to setup a Local Area Connection exclusively for my PS2...
hdl_dump connects...but in order to get it connected, I had to go into my Control Panel, then my Network Connections, then right-click my Local Area Connection, select Properties and modify my TCP/IP settings to the PS2's settings...but this left me unable to connect to the internet with my PC...
So, my question is, how do I setup a Local Area Connection exclusively for my PS2???
Been to google too, got 0% help...

you don't have to config your network connections in window xp. make sure you edit the "IPCONFIG.dat" that come with hdl_dump with notepad to match your network before you put it on the memory card. This is what mine ipconfig look like "192.168.0.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1" without quotes. 192.168.0.10 to your ps2 ip. 255.255.255.0 is the submask i think it is always the same. 192.168.0.1 is your gateway ip.

OK...I put the IP in the "Alternate Configuration" tab a while back and that didn't help anything...
I edited my IPCONFIG.dat file to read "192.168.0.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1" (minus quotes, obviously)...but none of this seems to have helped...
But yet if I want to network with my PS2, I have to go into my Network Connections - Local Area Connection and manually change my TCP/IP settings under the "General" tab...

    Thanks radalv...that helps...
At least now I can use WS_FTP to transfer to my PS2 HDD...although I still haven't been able to use hdl_dumb/p without manually changing the TCP/IP settings every time...
