Network protocols compatibility, PSP vs PS2 gameplay?

Is it possible to play Colin McRae Rally 2005 on PS2 against Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus on LAN when both PSP and PS2 are connected via the same switch?

This would be a really cool option!
