    Dial up, DSL, or Cable?

Dial up make sure you have your login and password correct..... as well as the number. Do not setup a static IP either...

DSL you need to setup the PPPoe settings with login and password.... If using router this is not needed...

Cable usually has no login not usually a problem

with at router try changing the advanced settings to full-duplex with the NA setup disc on the PS2..... and static IPs are a good way to go if your router has a firewall.. If the router has a DMZ setting set it to the same IP as your PS2.
